About Indianapolis Structural Engineer

Indianapolis Structural Engineer routes homeowners to independent professional engineers registered in Indiana. We are not an engineering firm, we do not provide engineering services, and we do not perform repairs. What we do is get the right kind of professional on the phone with you quickly.

What actually happens when you call

1. You describe what you are seeing — a crack, a bowing wall, a floor that has started sloping, or an inspector's report telling you to get an evaluation.
2. We take enough detail to match the job: location, the nature of the problem, and whether you are working to a real estate or warranty deadline.
3. One engineer covering your area picks it up and calls you back. You are not handed a list to work through, and your details do not go out to four firms who all then call you.
4. The engineer schedules the visit, sets the fee, performs the assessment and issues the report. From that point the relationship is between you and them.

What we ask of engineers in the network

• Current Indiana PE registration, verifiable with the state
• Professional liability insurance
• A written, stamped report rather than a verbal opinion
• Residential experience specifically — commercial structural work is a different discipline
• An honest callback window rather than an optimistic one

How we are paid

Engineers pay us a referral fee. You are not charged for using this site. The engineer sets their own fee for the work, and we take no part in that.

What we will not do

We do not give structural opinions over the phone, and neither should anyone else without seeing the building. If a crack in your basement wall matters, that is a judgement made on site with measurements — not from a description or a photograph.

Verifying a registration

Ask any engineer for their PE registration number and check it against the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency's public search. It takes about a minute. Note that Indiana registers engineers separately from neighbouring states — an Ohio or Kentucky PE is not licensed to practise here.
